TNMU Professor Took Part in the World Congress on Trichoscopy “Hair and Nail and Anti-Aging 2021”
On October 9-11, 2021 the World Congress on Trichoscopy, Hair and Nail Diseases was held in the city of Sorrento (Italy). Svetlana Halnykina, Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of TNMU joined the event.
It should be noted that trichoscopy is very young field, only a few years ago dermatologists began to study diseases of the hair and scalp by recent optical devices – trichoscopes. This greatly facilitated and simplified the diagnosis of dermatoses localized on the scalp and hair. This field of dermatology was started by Polish Professor Lidia Rudnytska, who is the author of the world’s first atlas of trichoscopy.
The scientific program of the congress was characterized by a high level of information, speakers from around the world shared their experience in diagnosis, trichoscopic features of diseases of the scalp, nails and hair. Undoubtedly, clinical cases of various pathologies, in particular various types of alopecia were really interesting. A section meeting covered the issues of paediatric trichology, the problems of trichotillomania, the appearance of grey hair in childhood, transient hair loss in children. In addition to classic reports, practical workshops and trainings on the diagnosis of diseases of the hair, scalp and nails were held.
Much attention was also paid to the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and other scalp dermatoses. TNMU researcher presented a poster report on “Comparative characteristics of combined treatments for seborrheic dermatitis”.
Many new technologies, including modern diagnostic equipment using artificial intelligence were presented at the exhibition.
Regenerative medicine in hair restoration, as well as robotic methods of hair transplantation were particularly interesting to practicing dermatologists-trichologists.
The beautiful landscape of the Sorrento Peninsula is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Italy. This is a bright palette of all possible colours and flavours, incredible panoramas of the coast, really breath-taking.
