TNMU Nigerian students organize a number of online quizzes on medical topics

On March 22, 2020, the representatives of the Nigerian Student Union at Ternopil National Medical University, in particular the Academic Department, organized an online quiz on medical topics which was tagged was tagged Sunday Night Quiz (SNQ). Students plan to do a series of online intellectual debates to diversify their time in quarantine and continue the tradition of such activities at TNMU.

The quiz was aimed at awakening and testing the academicaccuracy and ability of the students to answer some standard questions within a given period of time. It was also aimed at creating a lively atmosphere amongst students of the Union even in the quarantine period.

The quiz was set up using an application called Quizizz. About 10 questions was set by the unions Director of Academics which was typed into the provided space in the application. A game code was generated which was shared for participant to be able to join. The application actually helped to avoid controversies about who the winner was as it showed every participants grade as questions have been failed or passed.

The competition recorded over 80 participants from the Nigerian Student Union who battled to win the competition and price; along side online attendance of good numbers of persons as the game was aired live on the unions Instagram page.

The Academic director solicited for sponsorships from various entrepreneurs within the union who have agreed to sponsor each quiz by presenting a gift to the winners of each competitions which serves as a means of encouragement for participants.

The last quiz organized was sponsored by Tniyi Creations company.

This quiz was won by Osamudiame Gift, a second yearmedical student. She got a prize of an AirPod.

It was a successful event which was well appreciated and request of more of its kind were made.
