TNMU Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology celebrated World Mental Health Day

On October 10, 2019, the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University organized an event dedicated to the World Mental Health Day for the patients of the children’s psychiatric department of Ternopil Psychoneurological Hospital. Teaching staff, international students and interns took part in the event.

During the holiday, the organizers suggested different entertaining activities, games and competitions for the patients. The children recited poems and sang songs. An interesting concert, songs and dances gave everyone a good mood.

At the end of the event, the organizers presented all the children with gifts and treated them with delicious snacks.

Ukraine has been celebrating World Mental Health Day since 1992. It is celebrated to raise public awareness of mental health, promote the care of the psyche, and overcome the misbelieves surrounding it. Every year, TNMU Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology conducts a number of events dedicated to this actual issue. The main message of this day is the importance of preventing mental and emotional disorders, treating and caring for people with similar disorders and promoting mental health.
