TNMU Representatives Participated in the “Achievements and Next Steps Conference” within the Framework of the Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Medical Education Development”
On December 3, 2024, Associate Professors from the Departments of Emergency Medical Care and Pediatrics No. 2, Oksana Sydorenko and Nataliia Haliyash, took part in the “Achievements and Next Steps Conference” held during the Supervisory Board meeting of the Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Medical Education Development.” This project is implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The meeting aimed to comprehensively review the project’s achievements over the past year and discuss future steps in advancing medical education, particularly in adapting to the challenges of the full-scale invasion. Key speakers shared insights on how to continue improving the quality of medical education despite wartime conditions, emphasizing sustainable development strategies, innovation, and ongoing growth in the professional training of medical personnel.

Ternopil National Medical University has been a Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Medical Education Development” project institution since 2018. The second four-year phase of the project, launched in 2023, will continue until June 2027, with a budget of 6.8 million Swiss francs.
The project aims to improve healthcare quality, particularly at the primary care level, by enhancing medical and managerial education. As a result, primary healthcare providers are expected to become more competent, motivated for professional development, and capable of delivering patient-centered and safe medical services.
