A Moment of Silence and a Day of Prayer at TNMU for All Fallen Heroes Who Fought for Ukraine’s Freedom
The Day of Prayer for Ukraine is observed on February 24th as a way to honor all those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom. It serves as an important spiritual and national day for Ukrainians. This day is a response from our country to the tragic events of February 24, 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On February 24, 2025, a moment of silence was held in all buildings of Ternopil National Medical University. In the administrative building of TNMU, students and faculty gathered to honor all those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine’s independence in a collective prayer.

TNMU chaplain, Father Ihor Drapak, conducted a memorial service, praying that all our fallen defenders receive God’s mercy and that their souls find peace. He also reminded everyone present that honoring Ukraine’s heroes is one of the essential aspects of shaping national consciousness and unity.
