Head of the Department of Legal Affairs, Taras Borys, and Head of the Center for Counteracting Discrimination and Harassment, Taras Piatkovskyi, participated in the national training “Countering Gender Discrimination and Sexual Harassment in the Medical Sphere in Medical Education Institutions and Healthcare Facilities,” which took place on September 23, 2025, in Kyiv.

The training was dedicated to the implementation of the Mechanism for Preventing and Responding to Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination in Ukraine’s healthcare sector. This document was developed to address urgent challenges related to gender inequality and violence in healthcare. It outlines clear procedures for reporting and response, ethical and professional standards, as well as approaches to raising awareness and developing relevant internal policies.

The event was organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Women Lawyers’ Association “JurFem.” The seminar brought together representatives of all 15 medical universities to support the adaptation and implementation of the Mechanism in educational institutions.
