Guest Lecture for Future Dentists at TNMU
On March 10, 2026, at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of TNMU, with the support of the Rector – Professor Petro Lykhatskyi – and the administration of the Poltava State Medical University represented by the First Vice-Rector – Professor Valentyn Dvornyk, as well as with the support of Viola-Medtekhnika LLC (Poltava), a guest lecture with a master class titled “Fundamentals of Dental Implantation. Modern Prosthetic Concepts” took place.

This dental event was organized by renowned specialists in the field – Associate Professors of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry with Implantology at PSMU, O. Dobrovolskyi and O. Dobrovolska.

As noted by one of the event organizers, Professor Petro Hasyuk, the lecture’s distinctive feature was its two-part format.

The first part focused on the surgical aspects of dental implantation: the dental implant system, the algorithm for preliminary examination and treatment planning, specifics of radiological diagnostics, determining the required bone volume depending on implant length and diameter based on computed tomography results, types of bone architecture, stages of surgical intervention under favorable anatomical conditions, as well as analysis of clinical cases.

The second part of the lecture focused on modern prosthetic approaches to implant-supported restorations. Participants were presented with issues in the biomechanics of implant prosthetics, the prosthetic stage of implantation, possible prosthetic design options, principles for selecting the optimal prosthetic system, characteristics of superstructures, and modern techniques and methods for impression-taking.
The audience drew special attention to the master class conducted by the invited specialists, during which impressions were obtained from diagnostic models using individual trays and impression transfers.
According to the organizers and lecturers, the knowledge and practical skills acquired by future specialists during the event once again confirm the importance of systematic interdisciplinary integration in mastering the practical skills necessary to implement both the surgical and prosthetic protocols of dental implantation. Consequently, guest lectures and master classes at the Faculty of Dentistry will continue to be conducted in a systematic and regular manner.
