The First Stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad Held at the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine
On March 24, 2026, the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the discipline “Emergency Medicine. Pre-Medical Care in Extreme Situations” was held at the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine. The competition took place across two locations.

The first qualifying task was a test assessment covering topics from the discipline “Pre-Medical Care in Extreme Situations.”
The second task involved practicing practical skills through simulation-based scenarios. Students demonstrated proficiency in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using an AED, as well as techniques for stopping critical external bleeding using a tourniquet.

Based on the results, the jury admitted the high level of preparation of all participants. As the nationwide Olympiad is currently not being held due to martial law, the results of the departmental stage are considered final.

The prize places were distributed as follows:
1st place – Maksym Yatseniuk (MM-233)
2nd place – Iryna Lykha (MM-234), Nazarii Korneliuk (MM-234)
3rd place – Illia Burdakivskyi (MM-233), Mariia-Oleksandra Bash (MM-234)
