A Celebration for Youth with Special Needs Held at the Mental Health Center of TNMU

On April 16, 2026, the Mental Health Center of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University was filled with a special atmosphere of warmth and spiritual joy. A festive event dedicated to Easter took place here, with young people with special needs as its main participants.

Easter is a time of hope and compassion. That is why the organizers and volunteers aimed to extend the festive spirit to those who need our attention and support the most.

The participants prepared a concert program. Poems about Ukrainian traditions, Easter pysanky, and timeless spiritual values were performed on stage. Dance performances and sincere songs accompanied by guitar left no one indifferent. Each performance was met with warm smiles and enthusiastic applause from the audience, who admired the sincerity and authenticity of the young performers.

The preparation of this celebration was the result of the dedicated efforts of students involved in the university-wide volunteer movement MISERICORDIA. Future medical professionals became not only mentors but also true friends to the youth. The organization of the event involved Mariia Kavatsiuk, Svitlana Listrova, Karyna Bizhko, Kira Mykhalska, Vladyslav Bezkorovainyi, Viktoriia Bezzubka, Yuliia Stepanchuk, Khrystyna Sydor, Kateryna Yarema, Anna Dvolitko, Viktoriia Hural, Alina Nychka, Anastasiia Dyntu, Oksana Safronova, Kateryna and Viktoriia Naumchuk, Anna-Mariia Zakusilo, Sofiia Kukharchuk, Lidiia Kocherha, Iryna Rybtsunyk, and Liudmyla Rodzoniak.

The celebration would not have been as complete without the support of friends and partners. Sincere gratitude is extended to the administration of TNMU and the leadership of the Mental Health Center, the volunteers of the Air Assault Cossack Unit, and the benefactors Andrii Romanyshyn, the Velykyi family, and the Yakymchuk family. Thanks to their support, each family received essential food packages and hygiene products.

Such meetings are more than just events. They are about preserving the Ukrainian identity, fostering compassion, and creating a space where everyone feels valued.
