TNMU Faculty Members Complete International Professional Training
As part of an educational program, Ukrainian healthcare professionals from numerous higher medical education institutions, healthcare facilities, and pharmaceutical organizations participated in an international professional training program held in Rimini and Venice, Italy, from 10 to 18 July 2026. The program was organized through the support of the World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Associations (WFUMA) and the Association of French-Ukrainian Cooperation in Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals (ASFUDS).
Among the participants were academic staff members of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University: Professor Daria Popovych, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Education, and Associate Professors Tetiana Holovata and Anna Mykolenko from the Department of Pathological Anatomy with Autopsy Course and Forensic Medicine. They completed their professional training at the University Hospital of Saints John and Paul in Venice and the Provincial Hospital of Rimini.
The visit of the Ukrainian delegation was conducted within an educational programme comprising five training modules, complemented by study visits to several multidisciplinary hospitals in Italy.
During meetings with representatives of the medical institutions, the participants had the opportunity to visit the museum and library of the University Hospital of Saints John and Paul in Venice.

The training program also provided comprehensive insight into the organization of emergency departments, the management of outpatient care, and the operation of a wide range of specialized hospital units. Particular attention was given to the work of multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams, including specialists in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, who worked collaboratively in rehabilitation departments.

The knowledge and practical experience gained during the international training will enable TNMU faculty members to enhance the quality of higher education by incorporating modern technologies and innovative teaching approaches into the educational process. Furthermore, the program will strengthen opportunities for international scientific and clinical cooperation, encourage student participation in international projects, improve internal quality assurance mechanisms, and promote the integration of TNMU students and graduates into the European Higher Education Area and contemporary medical practice.
