TNMU Medical Community Members were Honored on Healthcare Workers’ Day

On July 24, 2026, a ceremonial event marking Healthcare Workers’ Day was held at Berezhany Castle, bringing together medical professionals from across the Ternopil region. Healthcare professionals were congratulated on their professional holiday by Roman Svystun, Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Bolieshchuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council, and Olha Yarmolenko, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration.

In his address, Professor Petro Lykhatskyi, Rector of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University emphasized the exceptional importance of healthcare professionals’ work during this challenging time for the country. He highlighted that the tremendous dedication of physicians, researchers, and future healthcare specialists continues to sustain Ukraine’s medical front and bring hope to thousands of patients.

Certificates of Merit from the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, presented by Roman Svystun, were awarded to:

Arsen Hudyma, Head of the Department of Emergency and Simulation Medicine;

Olha Denefil, Head of the Department of Pathological Physiology;

Liudmyla Mazur, Associate Professor of the Department of Higher Nursing Education, Patient Care and Clinical Immunology;

Nataliia Petrenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2;

Liudmyla Trushchenkova, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare Management.

Volodymyr Bolieshchuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council, presented Certificates of Merit from the Regional Council to the following TNMU representatives:

  • Dmytro Korobko, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy;
  • Olena Venher, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology;
  • Nataliia Haliiash, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2;
  • Svitlana Boitsaniuk, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry;
  • Volodymyr Radchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry;

Oksana Petryk, General Dentist at the Dental Department of the University Hospital.

A particularly inspiring moment of the celebration was the greeting from representatives of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, with whom TNMU has maintained close cooperation and provided comprehensive support since 2022.

On behalf of Andrii Biletskyi, Commander of the Third Army Corps, Hennadii Butenko and Serhii Suslovych presented Professor Petro Lykhatskyi, TNMU Rector, with an honorary distinction. This commemorative medal is awarded to volunteers, philanthropists, and leaders of organizations and enterprises in recognition of their sustained cooperation and significant support for the military unit.

The celebration concluded with a guided tour of Berezhany Castle and a visit to the permanent exhibition of works by renowned Ukrainian artist Oleh Shupliak, displayed within the historic castle
