Canadian MLA Keith Jorgenson Visits Ternopil National Medical University
On July 30, 2026, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University welcomed a Canadian delegation consisting of Keith Jorgenson, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Province of Saskatchewan, and constituency assistant Oleh Bufan, who were visiting Ukraine on a working trip.
The guests met with Petro Likhatskyi, Rector of TNMU; Oleksandra Oleshchuk, Vice-Rector for Research; Mykhailo Korda, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations and European Integration; and Mariia Marushchak, Dean of the Faculty of International Students.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for Canadian students to pursue medical education at TNMU, as well as to explore prospects for expanding cooperation in medical education and research, and to establish partnerships with Canadian universities.

During their visit, the members of the Canadian delegation toured the University’s educational and research facilities. They visited the Laboratory of Cell Cultures, Experimental and Clinical Research, the Garta Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation, the Simulation Training Center, and the TNMU Library, where they learned more about the University’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and research capabilities.

Keith Jorgenson is a Canadian politician, educator, entrepreneur, and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Saskatchewan. A fourth-generation Canadian of Ukrainian descent, he has long been a dedicated supporter of Ukraine and the Ukrainian community.
