TNMU Representatives Take Part in the “NEXT: IFNMU EDU” Conference
On 18 September 2026, the XIV International Scientific and Methodological Conference “Current Issues in Improving the Quality of the Educational Process” was held at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University in an updated format titled “NEXT: IFNMU EDU.” The event brought together representatives of higher medical education institutions to exchange experience, present modern educational practices, and discuss prospects for the development of medical education.

The event was attended by Professor Olha Fedortsiv, MD, PhD, and Associate Professor Nataliia Haliiash of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 at TNMU, who presented the achievements and results of the work carried out by the teams of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

Olha Fedortsiv presented the results of work in the area of “Multiculturalism in Medical Education” within the Erasmus+ KA220 “MultiCultiMed” project, demonstrating the university’s experience in developing the intercultural competence of future healthcare professionals.

Nataliia Haliiash delivered a presentation entitled “Transformation of the Standardized Patient in OSCE: Opportunities and Challenges of Using Artificial Intelligence,” in which she presented TNMU’s experience of using artificial intelligence to create and implement AI-based standardized patients (AI-SPs) in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
The “NEXT: IFNMU EDU” conference was distinguished by its modern and interactive format. The programme combined thematic presentations, practical and interactive sessions, panel discussions, communicative theatre, and professional networking. Particular attention was paid to patient-centred communication, mentoring, individualized practice-oriented educational pathways, and the use of innovative technologies in medical education.

The event provided a platform for professional dialogue, experience sharing, and the development of new ideas for the further advancement of medical education.
