On January 28-30, 2020, the Rector’s Cup Basketball Tournament was held at Ternopil National Medical University Sports Complex. On January 31 – February 2, 2020, Junior Chess Championship was held. 28 chess players participate in this intellectual game, 21 of them have reached the finish line. On the occasion of International Dentist Day and the 15th anniversary of the foundation of TNMU Faculty of Dentistry, a festive concert was held. This event was also timed to mark the centenary of the Ukrainian Dental School.   The founder of the dentistry in Ternopil was Stepan Ivanovych Cherkashyn, the first dean of the Faculty of Dentistry (2004-2006). On February 5, 2020, TNMU Scientific Studio of the Local History Studies “Terpoliany” organized a commemoration meeting for the dramatic events that took place in the life of the Ukrainian people. During the struggle against Hitler’s Nazism, the Ukrainians suffered the most. Due to the numerous losses of the population and courageous struggle, Ukraine was granted membership in the UN. “Coronavirus. Is there a threat in Ukraine? ” this was the title of the survey, conducted by I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University students. On February 1, 2020, TNMU volunteer organization Misericordia organized and educational and charity event for the children of Baikivtsi united territorial community. The students prepared an English lesson, during which the kids learned many interesting English phraseologisms. Every year, the Center for International Projects “EuroEducation” makes a ranking on the number of patents received by higher education institutions in the previous year. According to the results of the latest edition of the ranking, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University ranks first among higher educational institutions of Ternopil Region. It also ranks second among medical universities in Ukraine and fourth among all universities in our country. In total, experts analyzed the patent and inventive activities of 247 higher education institutions in Ukraine.

According to the results of the international ranking “4 International Colleges & Universities”, published in the updated edition in January 2020, Ternopil National Medical University was ranked first among medical universities of Ukraine and first among universities of Ternopil region.
