TSMU Continues its Cooperation with Samarkand Medical Institute

The Vice Rector for Research of Samarkand Medical Institute (Uzbekistan) Associate Professor Botyr Yuldashev and the Chief of Education Office, the Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases Associate Professor Narhiza Yarmukhamedova visited Ternopil State Medical University. During the meeting with the Rector of TSMU Professor Mykhailo Korda the guests sent greetings on behalf of the Rector of Samarkand Medical Institute Azamat Shamsiev, who is an Honorary Professor of TSMU.

During the meeting, they discussed the further cooperation in different areas. In particular, the Samarkand guests were interested in the possibility of their students’ participation in the International Student Summer Schools, which take place annually at the Recreational Center “Chervona Kalyna”. The innovations in educational process due to Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” were of great concern. Much attention was paid to the peculiarities of student’s knowledge evaluation, tests procedure at the Center of Students’ Knowledge Independent Testing. The Guests were also interested in scientific cooperation, including the Master degree students exchange, the possibility to perform research in our laboratories, to participate in joint research projects, to publish their researches in academic publications of TSMU. The Rector of the university Professor Mykhailo Korda asked the guests to expand on their postgraduate education that differs from ours and is of current interest for Ukraine.

The guests were invited to the Academic and Research Institute of Morphology and the Museum of the Department of Pathologic Anatomy, Autopsy Course and Forensic Pathology there.

They also visited the Newborn Intensive Care Unit which has been recently opened in Ternopil Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.
