TNMU hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference “Actual problems of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy”

On September 26-27, 2019 at Ternopil National Medical University and with the support of the Healthcare Administration of Ternopil Regional State Administration, an All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference “Actual problems of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy” was held. More than 300 specialists in the field of medicine and pharmacy took part in the event: doctors practicing in medical-preventive institutions of Ternopil and Ternopil region, TNMU research and teaching staff, guests from Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv.

       

The conference was opened by the Rector of the I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Mykhaylo Korda. Director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Tetiana Dumenko noted that it is always a pleasure for her as a graduate to return to her native walls. The main specialist of the Health Care Department of Ternopil Regional State Administration Mariia Selska conveyed greetings and wishes of fruitful work from. Deputy Director for Development of the Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeia Center of Medicinal Products Quality Zuhra Rudyk congratulated all participants of the conference.

The plenary session was opened by Tetiana Dumenko – Director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with a fundamental report “The role of the State Expert Center in the implementation of the drug circulation policy”.

Head of the Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology Department of TNMU, Head of the Expert Committee on Selection and Use of Basic Medicines of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Oleksandra Oleshchuk reported on the “National List of Medicines as a Component of the National Policy on Drug Supply”.

Olena Matvieyeva, Head of the Department of Medicinal Products Safety of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, made a report “The role of a doctor in the implementation of pharmacovigilance”.

Head of Pharmacology Department of I. Pyrogov Vinnytsia National Medical University Nataliia Voloshchuk spoke about “Gender aspects of drugs pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics”.

Professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology of TNMU Kateryna Posokhova made a presentation “Causes and consequences of excessive use of antibiotics”.

Associate Professor of Urgent and Emergency Care Department Larysa Martyniuk reported on “Modern Approaches to the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease”.

Professor Volodymyr Shmanko made a presentation “Current approaches to the treatment of bronchial asthma from the standpoint of the updated GINA 2019 recommendations”.

Within the framework of the conference, on the first day, two section sessions were held: “Rational Pharmacotherapy” and “Experimental Pharmacology”.

  

In the section “Rational pharmacotherapy”, chaired by Professor Volodymyr Shmanko and Associate Professor Larysa Martyniuk, the reports were delivered by Professor Oksana Boiarchuk (“Rational antibiotic therapy of respiratory pathology in pediatric patients”), Volodymyr Shmanko (“Pharmacotherapy of somatopsychic disorders in the internal diseases clinic”), Associate Professor Larysa Martyniuk (“Modern approaches to the treatment of type 2 diabetes”), Associate Professor Tamara Datsko (“The possibility of using an immunohistochemical study to diagnose breast cancer”), Assistant Professors Victoria Slyva (“Content of essential microelements in the serum of young children with recurrent obstructive bronchitis”), Tetiana Boiko (“Features of complex therapy of patients with alcoholic hepatitis with the inclusion of heptral (adenomethion)”).

      

In the section “Experimental Pharmacology”, chaired by Professor Lidiia Sheremeta and Professor Nataliia Voloshchuk, the reports were delivered by Associate Professor Oksana Shevchuk (“Possibilities of enterosorption for reduction of sde effects of antineoplastic medicines”), Assistant Halyna Loi (“Metformin prevents ischemia-reperfusion-based cardiac remodeling”), Associate Professor Mariia Shanaida (“Determination of biological activity and quality indicators of medicinal herbal products based on raw materials of the lLamiaceae family”), Assistant Anastasiia Dub (“Investigation of the specific effect of a new phytocomposition on experimental metabolic syndrome”), Assistant Bohdana Pavliuk (“Development and research of a medical / hemostatic sponge ”, major researcher. Of the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Dariia Dudikova (“Basic approaches to the study of antibiofilm activity of compounds and drugs”), Associate Professor Olena Pokryshko (“Study of antifungal activity of model drugs based on plant extracts”).

          

On September 27, 2019, a workshop “Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Legal Regulation of Clinical Trials” was held, conducted by specialists and experts of State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Lesia Yankova (Director of the Department of Materials of Preclinical and Clinical Trials Expertise) and Serhii Rasputniak (Head of the Audit Department of Laboratory and Clinical Practices) (GLP, GCP).
