Trench Candle and Camouflage Net Workshop at Ternopil Medical University Continues Its Work
Our soldiers are defending Ukraine. Thanks to their daily heroism, medical students at Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) can continue their studies, gaining the knowledge needed to save lives in the future.

In gratitude and desire to help, TNMU has maintained a trench candle workshop for the third year, providing warmth to those on the front line. Student volunteers actively create camouflage nets and ghillie suits, which help save soldiers’ lives by making them less visible to the enemy.

A new project, “Gather Funds for Spunbond, Save a Soldier’s Life,” was initiated by Andrii Svirzhevskyi to raise money to purchase materials for camouflage nets. In a creative fundraising effort, students dressed in ghillie suits walked around the city and raised 23,052 UAH.

“We are thrilled to have collected so much. Everyone has been amazing! A week ago, we wondered if we could even continue our work, and now we feel empowered! Thank you to everyone!” the students wrote in their chat group, “Mission: Spunbond.”

Representatives of the craft group, who manage the weaving of camouflage nets and ghillie suits, added, “Words can’t express our gratitude. Some volunteers weave the camouflage gear, and we help with fundraising and organization. Many people from Ternopil come to help. We can’t name them; some have family on occupied territories.”

The ghillie suits used by our volunteers for fundraising have now become protective charms on the front line.
