Results of the Student Selection Competition for Semester Studies at the Medical University of Vienna

On November 21, 2024, a competitive selection process was held for 4th- and 5th-year medical faculty students to study at the Medical University of Vienna during the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year. Four students participated in the competition: Marta-Viktoriia Zaleshchuk, Dmytro Datsiuk, Anastasiia Nikulina, and Mykhailo Yakovenko.

According to the “Regulations on Competitive Selection for Student Participation in Academic Exchange Programs,” the following criteria were established for applicants:

• Academic performance: consistent success in their studies.
• Language proficiency: English and/or German skills sufficient for comprehending theoretical aspects of courses and communicating with instructors.
• High professional motivation: involvement in scientific activities such as participating in programs like “Student Science and Career Guidance Training,” “Student – Future Specialist with High-Qualification Skills,” and research groups in clinical departments, presenting at conferences, and publishing scientific works or other intellectual property achievements.
• International experience: participation in programs like international summer schools, internships, student practicums, or foreign conferences.
• Social activity: contributions to community or university initiatives.

The selection committee thoroughly reviewed the résumés and supporting documents submitted by the candidates, highlighting their achievements. Additionally, interviews were conducted to evaluate their professional motivation and objectives for pursuing semester-long studies abroad.

Based on the evaluation, the competition winners were Marta-Viktoriia Zaleshchuk and Anastasiia Nikulina.
