Serhii Konoval Scholarship, Named after the Hero of Ukraine, has been Established for Active and Initiative Students at Ternopil National Medical University.
On November 27, 2024, the Director of the Serhii Konoval Foundation, Olha Konoval, and the Rector of TNMU, Mykhailo Korda, signed an agreement to introduce this named scholarship in memory of their alumnus, Hero of Ukraine Serhii Konoval.
The scholarship, founded by the Serhii Konoval Foundation, aims to support TNMU students who demonstrate significant civic, volunteer, and patriotic achievements. This monetary award will encourage young people to become more active and conscientious members of Ukrainian society, cultivate a patriotic outlook, develop leadership qualities, and show responsibility and dedication to Ukraine.
Eligibility criteria for the scholarship include:
Demonstrating high moral responsibility toward society.
Active participation in civic organizations at various levels (university, city, regional, or national) that contribute to societal development and promote volunteer and civic engagement.
Achievements in sports, cultural, volunteer, scientific, or civic activities, confirmed by diplomas and/or certificates.
Students can apply individually or be nominated collectively by student or faculty groups. A specially formed commission will select the recipients, with final approval by the Serhii Konoval Foundation.
Applicants must apply along with supporting documents, such as copies of diplomas, certificates, and recommendations from university faculty, leaders of civic organizations, or volunteer centers, following the public announcement of the selection process.
As Olha Konoval stated, one recipient from TNMU will be selected each semester to receive the named scholarship. The foundation’s management will determine the award’s monetary amount.
