Students of Ivan Franko Ternopil Academic Lyceum Spent a Day at TNMU
On November 11, 2025, students from five 11th-grade classes of the Ivan Franko Ternopil Academic Lyceum spent a day learning more about what it is like to study at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The students were accompanied by the school’s Director, Mykola Fedoruts, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Liudmyla Bilchuk, and class teachers.

The university’s Vice-Rector for Science and Education, Professor Arkadii Shulhai, gave an overview of TNMU’s activities.

Ihor Drach, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, introduced the students to the specifics of the admission process and explained how to set priorities when choosing a university.

The students visited the Educational and Scientific Institute of Morphology at TNMU, where Associate Professor Tetiana Henyk from the Department of Anatomy introduced them to the Anatomy Museum. They also learned about the Department of Pathological Anatomy with the Sectional Course and Forensic Medicine from Associate Professor Ihor Yuryk.
Professor Zoya Nebesna, Head of the Department of Histology and Embryology and Director of the Institute of Morphology, along with Senior Lecturer Nataliia Ohinska, spoke about the institute’s structure and its departments, and invited the students to visit the lecture halls and study rooms.


During a practical surgery session, Professor Mykhailo Hnatiuk, Head of the Department of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy, and Associate Professor Oleh Yasinovskyi demonstrated the key aspects of surgical procedures.

Associate Professor Yaroslav Stravskyi from the Department of Medical Biology organized a tour of TNMU’s vivarium.
Students also learned about the profession of dentistry thanks to Associate Professor Liudmyla Patskan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Professor Nataliia Hevkaliuk from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry; Associate Professor Lesia Kuchyrka; Professor Petro Hasiuk, Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry; and Associate Professor Nataliia Tverdokhlib from the Department of Surgical Dentistry.

Oleh Kosinskyi, a specialist from the Center for Simulation Training, introduced the students to innovative teaching technologies in medical education.
Throughout the visit, the students were accompanied by TNMU mentors, including Khrystyna Kvasnytska (Therapy and Rehabilitation, Group 202), Yaryna Shkrobot (MM-208), Artur Antonyuk (MM-585), Albina Korol (TR-202), Sofiia Hlushkova (MM-307), Yevdokiia Mudra (MM-515), and Sofiia Martych (MM-308).
