The Winners of the Pathomorphology Olympiad were Announced at TNMU
On March 30, 2026, the Department of Pathological Anatomy with Autopsy Course and Forensic Medicine of Ternopil National Medical University organized an Olympiad in pathomorphology among third-year medical students. Associate Professor Tetiana Holovata and Olena Hladii were appointed responsible for conducting the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad at the department. Associate Professors Mykhailo Furdela, Yurii Orel, Andrii Slyva, and Assistant Yaroslav Yuryk also contributed to organizing the preparation and проведения of the Olympiad.

The jury, headed by the Head of the Department, Professor Petro Selskyi, included Professor Oksana Kuziv, Associate Professor Volodymyr Voloshyn, Associate Professor Tetiana Holovata, Associate Professor Mykhailo Furdela, Associate Professor Anna Mykolenko, Associate Professor Ihor Yuryk, Associate Professor Yurii Orel, Associate Professor Andrii Slyva, and Associate Professor Olena Hladii.

A total of 22 third-year medical students took part in the event. The competition consisted of two stages. The theoretical part included a crossword with pathomorphological terms and eponyms, as well as situational test questions from the “Krok-1” question bank.

At the next stage, participants described gross specimens from the department’s museum and histological slides presented using a visualization system.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the following students demonstrated the best knowledge:
• 1st place – Mariia Vivchar (mm-318)

- 2nd place – Bohdan Yurchenko (mm-311), Oleksii Kitovskyi (mm-316), Maksym Styranka (mm-308)



- 3rd place – Mariia Brona (mm-311), Denys Dolhopolov (mm-302), Bohdan Kochkodan (mm-314), Mykhailo Halei (mm-301)




All prize-winning participants were awarded diplomas.
