Foreign Languages Celebration at TNMU
Following the Department of Foreign Languages’ long-standing tradition, a festive concert featuring students was held as part of Foreign Languages Week at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

The event began with a minute of silence to honor those who lost their lives as a result of the war unleashed by Russia. The Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Professor Nadiia Fedchyshyn, addressed participants and guests with a warm welcome. In her speech, she congratulated the audience, emphasized the importance of learning foreign languages as an integral component of the professional development of future medical professionals, and highlighted the role of languages in broadening horizons, facilitating professional communication, and integrating into the global medical community.
The festive atmosphere was created by the concert’s hosts, Olena Dudkevych and Anton Matlo, who not only conducted the program in a warm and engaging manner but also actively contributed to organizing the event, ensuring its coherence and dynamism.

The concert program was rich and diverse. Students recited poetry in English, German, and French, performed well-known musical pieces, and demonstrated excellent skills in playing the violin and guitar. Interactive games and an energetic warm-up ensured lively audience engagement, creating an atmosphere of sincerity and positivity.

Particular admiration was inspired by theatrical performances in which students demonstrated a high level of acting skills and creativity. These included a humorous medical-themed interpretation of the fairy tale “Cinderella,” a comic sketch about language misunderstandings in dental practice titled “Without a Translator: Mission (Im)possible,” the pantomime “Adventures on Doroshenko Street,” as well as a vivid performance “Organ Wars: Revolution.”

Such events contribute to the development of communication skills, creative thinking, and students’ confidence in using foreign languages in their professional activities. The concert provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talents, united everyone in a friendly atmosphere, and left lasting, bright, and warm impressions.

We sincerely thank all participants and guests for their enthusiasm, talent, and genuine emotions that made this celebration truly special!
