Humanitarian Aid from Children Aid Foundation in Żywiec

On May 26, 2022, Director of the Training and Rehabilitation Centre of the Children Aid Foundation in Żywiec (Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom w Żywcu, Poland), Dr. Renata Błecha together with volunteers Adriana Wojtyła and Grzegorz Madezycz personally brought to the TNMU Volunteer Centre humanitarian cargo, which included 665 kg of medical supplies, medicines, food, blankets and quilts.

It was purchased with grant funds from the Government of the Republic of Poland. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced the possibility of implementing subsidy programs for NGOs, charitable foundations that help Ukraine and Ukrainians. All concerned heads of NGOs and institutions had the opportunity to participate in the competition and receive funding. The Training and Rehabilitation Centre for the Children’s Aid Foundation in Zywiec, whose director is Renata Błecha, also submitted a project and received funding. One of the activities of the project is assistance to Ukrainians in Poland, the other area is assistance to Ukrainians in Ukraine. In addition, a psychological support service is organized for those who have psychological trauma as a result of the war. Ms. Renata also treats and rehabilitates Ukrainian children with disabilities.

“We spent part of the funds on the purchase of medicines for the military hospital in Korystyshiv, as well as donated aid to migrants and the military in Fastiv. And today we came to you to give medicine, medical supplies, food for the military,” said Renata Błecha.

She added that in the beginning, ordinary Polish citizens helped a lot by bringing things, products and personal hygiene products. The logistics of this aid were provided by Professor Daria Popovych.
