TNMU Held the 21st All-Ukrainian Conference “Modern Trends and Prospects for the Development of Higher Medical (Pharmaceutical) Education in Ukraine”
On May 23-24, 2024, the 21st All-Ukrainian research and training conference “Modern trends and prospects for the development of higher medical (pharmaceutical) education in Ukraine” was held at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The event was opened by the Rector of TNMU, Professor Mykhaylo Korda.


Professor Mykhaylo Korda gave a welcome speech in which he outlined the main directions of the conference and expressed his appreciation to the participants who, despite the rather difficult present, found the opportunity to join the discussion of important issues of modern medical education.

During the event, the following issues were discussed:
- the organization of the educational process in the conditions of war;
- organization of distance learning;
- organization of practical training;
- simulation training;
- features of postgraduate education;
- introduction of telemedicine, artificial intelligence, electronic health care system into the educational process.

Today’s realities make adjustments to the educational process, forcing institutions of higher education to respond to the constant dynamic change of emphasis in order to adapt to existing challenges. The changes that are taking place must meet the demands of certain conditions, and ensure the training of specialists according to the relevant educational programs, taking into account educational and professional standards and demand on the labour market.

During the plenary session of the conference, 9 reports were presented, and a number of reports were delivered in 38 breakout sessions. Moreover, 8 poster reports were presented.

In total, 386 representatives of 20 higher education institutions took part in the conference. The participants of 8 medical universities of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and 11 universities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine shared their experience and scientific accomplishments. The guests of the conference were representatives of Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Uzhgorod, Odesa, Rivne, Lutsk, and Ternopil.
The organizing committee expresses its deepest appreciation to the participants of the conference for their active participation in the discussion of current issues of modern medical and pharmaceutical education.
