TNMU Held Training on Peculiarities of Professional Ethics in Rehabilitation

On April 2, 2024, a training for students majoring in Physical therapy, occupational therapy (Therapy and rehabilitation) was held at TNMU. The event was hosted by in the University Library.

The organizer of the event is the Scientific Society of TNMU students, and the initiator and presenter was Solomia Hyz, a 3rd-year TNMU student. The purpose of the training was to unite students of all years of study and give them the opportunity to develop communication skills.

25 bachelor’s and master’s degree students who had previously registered took an active part in the training. However, free listeners were also present.

Захід почався з лекції, яка була розроблена на основі аналізу доказових джерел  та містила в собі стратегію The event began with a lecture that was developed based on an analysis of evidence sources and included a strategy for communicating with different types of patients. Ms. Solomia paid special attention to the mechanism of correct communication with servicemen, taking into account the difficult situation in Ukraine. The lecturer emphasized the importance of empathy, understanding and support when working with this category of patients.

In order to generalize the acquired knowledge, the participants were offered a practical part which involved solving situational problems.

The training experts were:

  • Ihor Mysula, Professor, Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation;
  • Tetiana Husieva, Head of TNMU Psychological Counselling Centre, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology;
  • Valentyna Bondarchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Education.

The experts carefully listened to the participants’ answers, supplemented them and gave advice.

At the end of the event, Ihor Mysula and Solomia Hyz presented the participants with certificates.

The participants of the event mastered many skills of effective communication, learned to help a person in states of emotional instability and panic attacks. Now the students are starting their practical training, so they will be able to implement the acquired knowledge when working with patients.

The event was a great opportunity for students of different years of study to get to know each other, communicate and exchange experiences. In the future, we plan to develop new ideas and implement them!
