TNMU Students Implement the “Elements of Nature: Life in the Harmony of Existence” Project
During October-November, students of TNMU Faculty of Medicine continued implementation of the educational project for schoolchildren of Ternopil “Elements of nature: life in the harmony of existence” in the framework of cooperation with the University of Rzeszów (Poland) and the Baltic University Program (Sweden). The goal of the project is the ecological education of young people, the development of a high level of ecological culture and ecological awareness with the help of educational and environmental activities.

According to tradition, a number of meaningful lectures were given to students of secondary schools and interesting activities were organized, which involved familiarizing junior and senior school students with the elements of Nature: Earth, Air, Fire, Water.

Project participants (Antonina Katruk, Sofia Homonets, Bohdana Dovhaliuk, Yaroslav Bilyk, Khrystyna Martyniak) told students about the benefits of the elements and their use by people in everyday life, at work, in agriculture and industry. Students also focused their attention on the damage that natural disasters can cause to both people and nature. The students were interested in hearing about the elements of nature in the traditions of magic and how they are used in medicine, solving puzzles, crosswords, participating in educational games “Yes-No”, “Be attentive”, “Guess the word”.

Pupils and students took part in scientific and cognitive experiments with great enthusiasm, when they could independently participate in experiments with the elements. Assistants in conducting experiments were Kristina Halak and Violetta Klinovska.
Based on the results of their work, the students worked out an advertising brochure about the implementation of the project they developed, as well as how, with the help of such educational activities, they join the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
