Workshop from TNMU Student Scientific Society
On November 2, 2023, students of Ternopil National Medical University were in the focus of an educational event that brought a lot of useful knowledge and inspiration. TNMU Student Scientific Society organized a workshop called “How to start scientific work”, during which students could deepen their knowledge about scientific activity and receive important advice.

Speakers of this event revealed various aspects of scientific work. Tetiana Podilska shared important recommendations, including how to avoid academic dishonesty, plagiarism, and how to properly structure theses and articles. She also talked about statistical differences and showed where to publish scientific works, including conferences, congresses, scientific journals, and competitions.
Viktoria Miroshnyk focused the audience’s attention on the concept of a student’s scientific research work and talked about the scheme of writing scientific papers. She inspired students with scientific achievements and motivated them to develop personal skills during scientific activities.
Marta-Viktoria Zaleshchuk shared valuable advice on finding a scientific supervisor and revealed the concept of the “evidence pyramid”. She emphasized the importance of finding scientific sources in medical databases and journals, and also explained citation styles and their role in scientific work.
At the end, Maria Semerez presented the scholarship program for talented young people from Viktor Pinchuk’s private fund “Zavtra.ua”. It helped students learn about additional financial support for research work.
The organizers of this event deserve exceptional appreciation which we express to Sofia Berehuliak, Oleksandr Mihenko, Ilia Sorokivskyi, and Ivan Bevziuk for their work and contribution to the preparation and conducting of the workshop.
This event proved to be a source of information and inspiration for TNMU students, and we hope that it will become a driver for many scientific paths of young researchers. The TNMU Student Scientific Society continues to help young scientists on their way to scientific success.
