TNMU Students Completed “Fundamentals of Medical Communications” Course from the University of Würzburg (Germany)
As part of the UA-MEDSAT: Ukraine MEDical SAtellite Teaching project, which is financed by the program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) “Digital Ukraine: Ensuring academic success during the crisis (2022)”, in the fall semester, 18 groups of 2nd-year Ukrainian students majoring in “Medicine” who chose the elective discipline “Fundamentals of Medical Communications” took part in online training using the Microsoft Teams platform, which was organized by our partners – teachers at the University of Würzburg (Bavaria, Germany).

The teachers of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Würzburg helped to expand fundamental communication skills and lay the foundations for the formation of a holistic idea about the role of communication and non-technical skills in increasing the effectiveness of providing medical care, effective communication and effective teamwork in the course of providing care to the sick and injured.
Students had the opportunity to communicate in microgroups, hold meetings, discussions, express their own opinion, collect medical history, try to use their own active vocabulary regarding attempts to report bad news, act as a consulting doctor, etc. A lot of time was devoted to the formation of basic knowledge about the main principles of building successful interpersonal communication, it was no less important to go through the case of conducting public speeches and communication barriers in the process of communication; formation of leadership skills and team interaction of doctors while providing medical care, etc. Upon completion of the course, students received appropriate certificates.




We are pleased to announce that new groups of students will be able to study the course in the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, as TNMU has again received a grant from DAAD “Universität Würzburg UA-MEDSAT: Ukraine MEDical SAtellite Teaching 2023”.
