Representatives of TNMU Took Part in the Training on Anaphylaxis
On June 29, 2021, a delegation of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University consisting of Roman Liakhovych, Associate Professor of the Department of First Emergency Medical Aid and Emergency Medical Treatment, Ivanna Chepil and Yuri Soroka, Associate Professors of Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive-Care Medicine, Bohdana Pereviznyk, Assistant Professor of the Department of Disaster and Military Medicine, took part in the training on Diagnosis and First Aid in Anaphylaxis which was held in Kyiv and supported by the WHO Office in Ukraine.
To implement the Roadmap for introduction of the vaccine against acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and mass vaccination in response to the COVID-19pandemic in Ukraine in 2021-2022 in order to expand and build the capacity of human resources of health care for vaccination in vaccination centres, mobile teams and vaccination centres involving the senior students and interns of institutions of higher education, it is planned to create temporary training centres on vaccination at institutions of higher education.
Such centres will train senior students, interns of institutions of higher education, as well as further train medical workers of mobile teams and vaccination stations of health care institutions.
In order to train instructors of institutions of higher education, the training on diagnostics and first aid in anaphylaxis was conducted.
Mykhailo Riabinchuk, the Head of the Department for Coordination of Educational Programs, Professional Competences and Communications of the Centre for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, welcomed the participants. He noted the main tasks and aims of the training, defined plans for future cooperation and further training.
After the introductory speech, Yurii Krivonos, the instructor of the Special Training Center presented the report on “Anaphylactic response: diagnosis and first aid”, which highlighted the main symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and care for patients with anaphylaxis based on international and Ukrainian protocols.
After the theoretical part, the participants worked for simulation scenarios, which reflected different options for possible development of anaphylaxis at the vaccination site in vaccinated people in order to practice the skills of initial examination of the patient according to ABCDE and choosing the right treatment tactics in this clinical situation.
The training ended with discussion and feedback.
The acquired knowledge will be used in the process of training mobile teams for vaccinatio, as well as in the educational process at the departments of TNMU.
