TNMU has Joined the National Project “Student to student”

On April 8, 2021, within the national project “Student to Student” a series of lectures on clinical topics was presented at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The event was prepared by the students of our university supervised by the teachers of the Department of Internal Medicine No.1.

Professor I.M. Klishch, the Vice-Rector for Research, and N.I. Yarema, Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No.1, welcomed the participants of the National Student Project.

TNMU took up the baton from Kharkiv National Medical University, which launched this spring a modern supplementary form of distance learning for medical students in order to develop a bank of student lectures. This event takes place regularly on the platform of Kharkiv National Medical University with the active participation of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Internal Medicine. The project also involves the students of Bogomolets National Medical University, Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy, Bukovynian State Medical University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, Vinnytsia Pyrogov University, Sumy State University, etc. In the suggested format, the lecturers are 4th-6th year students, interns who have profound knowledge, desire, successful experience in conferences, congresses, competitions and contests. The topics of their presentations cover internal medicine and clinical pharmacology in the form of 20-30-minute lectures.

During the event on April 8, TNMU students presented lectures on cardiology, i.e. one of its complex and important sections – arrhythmology: “Atrial fibrillation: clinical features, diagnosis, treatment” (Anna Komar, a 6th year student), “Atrial fibrillation: etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics” (Andrii Vuiv, a 5th year student), “Current approaches to treatment of atrial fibrillation” (Vladyslav Bondar, a 4th year student). Associate Professors of the Department of Internal Medicine No.1 I.P. Savchenko and L.V. Radetska assisted and supported the students.

Anna Komar, a sixth-year medical student

Vladyslav Bodnar, a fourth-year medical student

Andrii Vuiv, a fifth-year medical student

This approach allowed discussing in details the complex issues of clinical medicine as well as involving more students.

Our students successfully passed the baton to their colleagues from Bogomolets National Medical University. Good luck in expanding the knowledge and developing your professional skills!
