TNMU students and teachers organized a training course at the International Clinic of Rehabilitation
Within the framework of cooperation between I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University and Professor Volodymyr Koziavkin International Clinic of Rehabilitation, TNMU representatives Assistant Oksana Yavorska and two 4th-year student groups of the specialty “Human Health” organized a training course in this clinic in Truskavets.
The program of the course included 4 lectures on the organization of the rehabilitation process in the clinic using its original method of intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation (SINR), the use of this highly effective technology in the treatment of patients with cerebral palsy, the consequences of organic and vertebral damage to the nervous system and scientific research in the Clinic.
Students and teachers were able to familiarize with the system of intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation (SINR) during the practical part. The rehabilitation system is built on a multimodal principle with the use of various methods of influence on the patient. The effect of some techniques complements and strengthens others. The main complex of medical measures includes biomechanical correction of the spine, mobilization of the joints of the limbs, reflexology, mobilizing gymnastics, special system of massage, rhythmic gymnastics, apitherapy and mechanotherapy.
The basis of the intensive neurorehabilitation system is the original technique of polysegmental biomechanical correction of the spine, developed by Professor V. Kozyavkin. It aims at eliminating functional blockages of the vertebral segments and restoring the normal mobility of the joints of the spine.
For more than 12 years, specialized gaming devices and related software for computer rehabilitation have been developed and implemented at the International Clinic of Rehabilitation. While performing certain medical gymnastics exercises, a patient is simultaneously playing an interesting computer game.
It should be noted that not only the clinical work and high professionalism of the staff are fascinating, but the design of the Clinic itself. It is decorated in the style of secession with the use of symbolic ornamentation. All the halls are decorated with original floral ornaments. Decorative components of the interior, in addition to the aesthetic impact, are aimed at awakening the child’s motivation to recover and release from their illness.
The participants would like to express their sincere gratitude to the University administration for their assistance in organizing the trip, as well as to Professor Volodymyr Koziavkin and the Clinic personnel for their welcoming attitude towards students and teachers, high professionalism and desire to share experience.
Our cooperation will continue to achieve the common goal of developing high quality rehabilitation assistance in Ukraine.
Professor D. V. Popovych, Assistant O. L. Yavorska.
