TNMU Students Learned How to Avoid Cyber Fraud
On September 18, 2024, Ternopil National Medical University organized a meeting of the 2nd and 3rd-year students, academic staff, and the educational and legal departments of the university with the cyber police department officers.

For the students of TNMU, an authorized operative of the Cybercrime Countermeasures Department in the Ternopil region of the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, senior police lieutenant Sofia Tsezaruk delivered an interactive lecture about common dangers in the online environment, in particular, about types of online fraud.

The lecturer drew attention to implementing the joint project of volunteers and the cyber police called “BRAMA” and encouraged to join it. According to Sofia Tsezaruk, “BRAMA” was a synergy of citizens and private and public sectors in countering disinformation and illegal content in the information space. The project aims to protect the media space from Russian propaganda, blocking disinformation channels and illicit and prohibited content. It also aims to improve Ukrainians’ media literacy and reduce propaganda’s influence.
The lecture had the “question-answer” format. The first part of the lecture was devoted to questions to the audience; the second, on the contrary, the authorized operative answered the audience’s questions and gave examples of criminal schemes and methods of illicit enrichment. She noted that monitoring online content, filtering it, and media literacy on the Internet guarantees physical and moral health and personal safety.
Students, academic staff, and university employees received qualified answers to the questions that arose during the lecture.
