Schoolchildren of Secondary School No. 4 Explored Medical Specialties at TNMU
On December 5, 2024, 11th-grade schoolchildren from Ternopil Secondary School No. 4 visited Ternopil National Medical University as part of the project “A Day at TNMU.”

The day began with a meeting with Professor Arkadii Shulhai, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at TNMU. He shared insights about the university’s educational features, material and technical resources, student exchange programs, and scientific and creative development opportunities.

Ihor Drach, the Secretary of the Admissions Committee, provided a detailed overview of the 2025 admission campaign rules.

The students visited the Institute of Morphology, where Professor Zoia Nebesna, Head of the Department of Histology and Embryology and Director of the Institute of Morphology, welcomed them. They explored lecture halls, study rooms, and disciplines taught in the institute. The students also had the chance to examine histological samples using light optical microscopes. Assistant Violetta Kulbitska demonstrated advanced equipment in the morphological sector of the interdepartmental laboratory, explained the principles of electron microscopy, and showed electronograms of human tissues.

Associate Professor Tetiana Henyk introduced the students to the unique exhibits of the Anatomical Museum, where they learned fascinating details about the structure of the human body.

At the Department of Pathological Anatomy with a Sectional Course and Forensic Medicine, students observed a collection of macroscopic specimens in the departmental museum. They heard about intriguing cases from the professional experiences of pathologists.

Another highlight was the Simulation Training Center, where students toured the facility, practiced chest compressions and learned to apply tourniquets.

TNMU mentors Nazar Krulyk and Sofiia Shyshka accompanied the students throughout the visit.
