Meeting of Pharmacy Faculty Students with a Representative of L’Oréal
On March 21, 2025, at the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics with Drug Technology of Ternopil National Medical University, a meeting between students and Oksana Snovyda, a dermatocosmetics manager for the brands La Roche-Posay, Vichy, and CeraVe was held.

As a graduate of TNMU, she first shared warm memories of her studies, emphasizing the importance of the knowledge gained for a successful career. “My years of study at the university provided me with the necessary theoretical foundation and the ability to analyze information and apply it in practice critically. These skills helped me transition into dermatocosmetics and become part of the L’Oréal team,” said Oksana Snovyda.

During the event, the guest introduced students to the history and mission of L’Oréal, which unites more than 30 brands and develops innovative therapeutic and cosmetic products for skincare, hair care, and decorative cosmetics.
The event aimed to familiarize students with scientifically based approaches to producing, testing, and applying therapeutic and cosmetic products. A special focus was placed on the role of pharmacists in the rational use of dermatocosmetics in pharmaceutical practice as more and more pharmacies are adding them to their assortment.

Innovative methods for testing cosmetic products were also discussed. Since 1989, L’Oréal has abandoned animal testing and has actively implemented innovative in vitro methods, particularly the EpiSkin model, to test therapeutic and cosmetic products’ permeability, irritation, and toxicity. This allows for obtaining accurate results without using living organisms, aligning with ethical standards, and ensuring product safety.

Throughout the meeting, students had the opportunity to learn more about employment opportunities at L’Oréal, including key aspects to consider during interviews and the ethical aspects of product promotion.

Oksana Snovyda emphasized that success comes to those who recognize opportunities, and constantly develop, as even the most challenging path opens doors to a dream job. The speaker quoted Coco Chanel’s famous words: “If you want to have something you’ve never had, you’ll have to do something you’ve never done.”
