Art Therapy Meeting “Colors of Summer: Creativity and Harmony for Sunny Souls” at TNMU

On May 16, 2025, an art therapy meeting “Colors of Summer: Creativity and Harmony for Sunny Souls” took place at the Mental Health Center as part of Olena Zelenska’s “How Are You?” program.

This heartwarming event became a true space of joy, creativity, and inner harmony for special participants — “sunny souls” people living with Down syndrome.

Art therapy is the language of color, form, and sensation. It opens up new possibilities for emotional expression, communication development, anxiety reduction, and improved self-esteem. For people with Down syndrome, this is especially important, as art helps establish a connection with the world, develop fine motor skills, stimulate speech and thinking, and most importantly — brings a sense of acceptance, support, and inner joy.

Our participants painted summer: warm, bright, and full of the colors of happiness. Each artwork was a unique story, every stroke — an expression of the soul. In this safe space, everyone could be themselves, create without judgment or limitations.

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who joined this initiative and helps build a world where mental health, acceptance, and development come first.

May this summer be filled with colors, light, and genuine smiles!
