Student Scientific Club on Healthcare Management Launched at TNMU
In May 2025, the Department of Public Health and Health Care Management at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University officially launched a student scientific club dedicated to exploring contemporary issues in healthcare management.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the healthcare system faces numerous challenges, driving the demand for highly qualified professionals capable of strategic thinking, innovation, and effective medical institution management. The creation of this student club responds directly to these emerging needs.
The club is coordinated and academically supervised by Associate Professor Liudmyla Trushchenkova, PhD in Economics, program guarantor of the educational-professional program “Healthcare Management.”
The club’s research activities will align with the department’s broader scientific project:
“Innovative Management Strategies in Healthcare.”
Within this scope, students will explore critical topics such as:
- Strategic planning in healthcare institutions;
- Digital transformation in health systems;
- Quality management of medical services;
- Medical leadership and crisis management;
- Economic efficiency of healthcare reforms.
Participants will not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also apply it in practice by:
- preparing scientific publications;
- participating in conferences;
- developing analytical reports and project work.
As noted by Associate Professor Liudmyla Trushchenkova:
“Today, it’s crucial to develop not only a strong knowledge base among students but also to encourage research engagement, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities. Our club will serve as a platform where students can grow both as researchers and future healthcare leaders.”
During the club’s inaugural meeting, the following plans were outlined:
- preparation for the annual student scientific conference;
- organizing a roundtable discussion on “Change Management in Healthcare Institutions Amidst Reform”;
- launching the first research projects.
The creation of this club is an important step toward enhancing research activity within the Department of Public Health and Health Care Management. It aims to support deep learning, promote scientific inquiry, and foster a new generation of professionals with civic responsibility and a strong drive for positive change in Ukraine’s healthcare system.
All interested students are warmly invited to join the club and become part of a team dedicated to shaping the future of innovative healthcare management.
