All-Ukrainian Student Research Paper Competition Held at TNMU
On May 6, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Student Research Paper Competition took place at Ternopil National Medical University. Students presented their research in three sections: Theoretical Medicine, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, and Pediatrics.
Each submitted paper was reviewed with two expert evaluations provided by the members of the competition committee. The works were comprehensively assessed based on the relevance of the topic, novelty and originality of ideas, independence and academic integrity, research methods, theoretical significance and practical application of the findings, proper use of scientific sources, quality of formatting, adherence to requirements, and the degree to which the results were published in scientific journals. Additionally, during the defense, the works were further evaluated according to the following criteria: command of the topic by the contestant, personal contribution to the research, quality of the presentation, and responses to questions from the committee members.
Vice-Rector for Research, Professor I. Klishch, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.


As a result of the All-Ukrainian Student Research Paper Competition, the following winners were determined in each section:
Section: Theoretical Medicine
1st Degree Diploma: Ivan Bevziuk (5th-year student, Faculty of Medicine) and Sofiia Chornii (4th-year student, Faculty of Medicine) for their paper “Biochemical Changes in the Body and Morphological Condition of the Heart in Male and Female Rats Exposed to Stress-Related Disorders” (Scientific Advisor: Prof. Olha Denefil, Head of the Department of Pathophysiology).

2nd Degree Diploma: Roman Kovalevych (2nd-year student, Faculty of Medicine) and Tetiana Valivko (4th-year student, Faculty of Medicine) for their paper “Oxidative Stress and Alopecia: Dietary Strategies for Prevention” (Scientific Advisor: Prof. Olha Yaremchuk, Professor of the Department of Medical Biochemistry).

3rd Degree Diploma: Karina Dzhobava (4th-year student, Faculty of Medicine) for her paper “Congenital Malformations and Their Prevalence in Ukraine and Worldwide” (Scientific Advisor: Prof. Mariia Khara, Professor of the Department of Pathophysiology).

Section: Pediatrics
1st Degree Diploma: Anastasiia Hrekh (1st-year student, Faculty of Medicine) for her paper “Vitamin D, Calcium, and Phosphorus Status in Children with Spina Bifida” (Scientific Advisor: Prof. Oksana Boiarchuk, Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery).

Section: Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy
1st Degree Diploma: Olesia Metelska (6th-year student, Faculty of Medicine) for her paper “Effectiveness of Stabilometric Platform Use in Rehabilitation of Elderly Patients After Ischemic Stroke” (Scientific Advisor: Prof. Ihor Mysula, Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation).
