Delegation from the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” Visited TNMU
On May 28, 2025, representatives of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”, including Head of the Occupational Safety and Civil Protection Department Andrii Musiiovskyi, Occupational Safety Managers Oleksandr Borovytskyi and Nataliia Zhurenko, and Head of the Occupational Safety and Civil Protection Department Olena Shkatko, visited Ternopil National Medical University.

The visit began with Lyme disease testing using the “AcuDart™ Lyme Rapid Home Test”, conducted with the support of scientists from the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases at TNMU. This is a non-automated in vitro immunochromatographic self-test designed for the qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies specific to Borrelia burgdorferi in human capillary whole blood, used in individuals showing signs and symptoms of Lyme borreliosis.
The testing is part of a joint research project with the “ID-FISH Technology” laboratory (Milpitas, USA), which specializes in diagnostics of infectious diseases.

Following the testing, the delegation met with Rector of TNMU, Professor Mykhailo Korda, to discuss areas of potential collaboration. Professor Korda provided an overview of TNMU’s current research projects related to Lyme disease.
