On May 20, 2025, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, together with the Public Organization “Anti-Corruption Headquarters,” and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine with funding from the Government of Denmark, organized an event titled “Integrity in Education: From Recommendations to Action” within the framework of the Open Integrity Week at the Integrity Hub. The event focused on implementing the Methodological Recommendations for ensuring transparency and integrity in higher education institutions, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Following a competitive selection, 11 of the most motivated higher education institutions were chosen to participate, including a team from Ternopil National Medical University. The team included Acting Vice-Rector for Science and Education Hryhorii Zahrychuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency Medical Care Oksana Sydorenko, Acting Authorized Person for Anti-Corruption Activities Iryna Molen, and Chair of the Student Parliament Sofiia Berehuliak.

At the presentation panel “Recommendations for Building Integrity in Higher Education Institutions: Ideas, Meanings, Priorities, Challenges,” speeches were given by:

Serhii Mytkalyk, Chairman of the Board of the NGO “Anti-Corruption Headquarters”

Oleh Sharov, General Director of the Directorate of Higher and Adult Education, Ministry of Education and Science

Iryna Tymchenko, Head of the Department of Educational Outreach and Training Programs at the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAZK)

Anna Fedorenko, Expert of the NGO “Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine”

During the event, representatives of higher education institutions had the opportunity to discuss issues of integrity in Ukrainian higher education in groups, and develop and formulate practical steps for implementing the Methodological Recommendations.

The implementation of these Methodological Recommendations will help foster a new culture in higher education institutions where integrity is a foundational principle, as well as a fundamental link in forming proper ethics, behavior, and culture among all participants in the educational process.
