TNMU Expands Cooperation with Prosthetics Professor from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria
In early June, Prof. Hubert Egger (FH OO, Linz), a professor of prosthetics at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, visited Ternopil National Medical University.

Professor Egger delivered an introductory lecture for students of the master’s program in Prosthetics and Orthotics, professional prosthetists, specialists, and students of the Physical Therapy program.

He emphasized that the person receiving the prosthesis is central to the entire process. Even the most advanced bionic prosthesis is merely a technical device—until it is worn by a patient. Then it becomes an extension of the human body.

Prof. Egger also conducted practical training sessions with students in TNMU’s Simulation Center, where a special classroom has been set up for training future prosthetists and orthotists. We are grateful to him for donating prostheses to support our students’ education.

During his visit, the guest and university administration also discussed the development of a program for online and offline training for TNMU students majoring in Prosthetics and Orthotics.

We express our gratitude to OeAD (Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation), the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv, and personally to Diana Popfalushi for their support and professional translation assistance.
We sincerely thank Professor Hubert Egger for his help in developing high-quality education in prosthetics and orthotics in Ukraine, for his openness, his willingness to share deep knowledge and experience, and for his genuine support of the Ukrainian people.
