State Certification of Students of the Academic and Research Institute of Nursing

The state certification of students, marking the completion of academic programs at the Academic and Research Institute of Nursing of Ternopil National Medical University, is traditionally one of the most important and emotionally significant events of the academic year. It includes the final assessment of students’ knowledge, a summary of their academic achievements, and a survey of students regarding the educational programs with the aim of implementing suggestions and improving the educational process.

Graduate students of the master’s degree (distance learning) work in healthcare and educational institutions during their studies, which enables them to present the most up-to-date trends in the field of nursing in their qualification theses.

In the 2024/2025 academic year, meetings of the State Examination Commission were held under the chairmanship of Professor Petro Bodnar, Head of the L. Kovalchuk Department of Surgery No. 1 with Urology and Minimally Invasive Surgery . Active participation in the defense of qualification theses was also taken by a member of the Examination Commission, Deputy Medical Director for Nursing of the Ternopil Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, Nataliya Smoliuk.

The state certification of 23 Ukrainian and 26 international students under the educational and professional program “Nursing” (specialty 223 “Nursing”) of the second (master’s) level of higher education took place in the form of public defense of qualification theses from May 29 to June 10, 2025.

In their qualification papers, students explored various directions in studying current issues in nursing. All submitted theses were written at a sufficient academic level, were relevant, and included practical recommendations for implementation in healthcare and educational institutions.

The state certification of 107 domestic and 63 international students under the educational and professional program “Nursing” (specialty 223 “Nursing”) of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education was carried out in the form of the Unified State Qualification Exam. The first stage was the qualifying test “KROK B”, and the second stage was a practice-oriented exam, during which students demonstrated clinical nursing skills in internal medicine, surgery, and pediatrics.

The staff of the Academic and Research Institute of Nursing and the Department of Higher Nursing Education, Patient Care and Clinical Immunology sincerely congratulate the graduates on the successful completion of their studies and wish them career growth and professional accomplishments.
