Excursion of Ternopil Classical Lyceum Students to the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy of TNMU
On October 14, 2025, students of Ternopil Classical Lyceum, accompanied by their class teacher Olha Romanyshyn, visited the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

The purpose of the event was to promote medical, pharmaceutical, and biological knowledge among school students.
During the excursion, the lyceum students learned about the specific features of a pharmacist’s work in a pharmacy setting. Nadiia Malanchuk, Assistant at the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics with Drug Technology, explained the rules of dispensing medicines and demonstrated how this process takes place in practice.

Under the guidance of Associate Professor Olena Pokotylo of the same department, the students explored a variety of medical products. They asked numerous questions about how devices such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, and other specialized medical equipment function.

At the Department of Pharmacognosy with Medical Botany, the students listened to an engaging talk by the department head, Professor Svitlana Marchyshyn, about the healing properties of medicinal plants. They also had the opportunity to examine herbarium specimens and the microscopic structure of medicinal plant materials.

At the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, students were introduced to the theoretical foundations of chemistry-related disciplines. Under the supervision of Associate Professor Iryna Ivanusa, they conducted fascinating chemical experiments, which undoubtedly helped spark their interest in chemistry.

Associate Professor Tetiana Kucher of the same department presented the scientific laboratory and spoke about current trends and challenges in pharmaceutical research.
The lyceum students listened with great interest, asked questions, and took part in experiments — because discovering the world of science through practice is always more exciting.
