Prevention of Bad Habits — the Key to a Healthy Heart!

On October 21, students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Valeriia Letyahina (MM-306 group) and Taras Syvakivskyi (MM-112 group), held an informative meeting with 8-G grade pupils of Ternopil Specialized Secondary School No. 3 with in-depth study of foreign languages. The students presented a report prepared under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2, Roksolana Bodnar, on the topic “The Harmful Effects of Smoking on the Cardiovascular System of Adolescents.”

The aim of the event was to raise students’ awareness about the negative impact of smoking on the body, to promote motivation for a healthy lifestyle, and to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

In an engaging and interactive format, the children learned about the dangerous effects of smoking on the heart, blood vessels, and the body as a whole. The pupils actively participated in the discussion, asked questions, and shared their own thoughts on maintaining health. Such meetings help schoolchildren develop a responsible attitude toward their own health and provide medical students with valuable experience in preventive and educational work.
