Cooperation for Transparency: TNMU Launches a Project Together with NACP and the NGO “Anti-Corruption Headquarters”

Continuing its tradition of ensuring transparency in decision-making and upholding academic integrity in the educational process, Ternopil National Medical University, together with four leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, is launching a joint initiative with the Integrity Office of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the NGO “Anti-Corruption Headquarters” within the project “Anti-Corruption and Integrity: Transforming the University Environment.”

This initiative is implemented with the support of UNDP Ukraine and funded by the Government of Denmark. Its goal is to introduce methodological recommendations for applying tools and mechanisms that promote transparency and integrity in various areas of university functioning. These include systemic mechanisms such as strengthening internal university policies, enhancing academic ethics, implementing anti-corruption practices, and improving the transparency of administrative processes.

On November 17, 2025, an organizational online meeting was held with teams representing TNMU, the NACP, and the “Anti-Corruption Headquarters.” The TNMU team included:
Hryhorii Zahrychuk (Head of the Department of General Chemistry, Rector’s Representative for Quality Assurance),
Iryna Molen (Acting Authorized Anti-Corruption Officer),
Oksana Sydorenko (Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency Medical Care),
as well as student representatives:
Oleksandr Mihenko (Head of the Student Parliament),
Sofiia Berehuliak (Deputy Head of the Student Parliament),
Viktoriia Miroshnyk (Head of the Student Scientific Society).

During the meeting, participants discussed the roles of each team member, outlined expected outcomes, and developed an action plan. This cooperation represents another step for TNMU toward strengthening its culture of integrity and anti-corruption measures. It aligns with the university’s internal policies, including the Code of Academic Integrity, the Anti-Corruption Prevention and Combat Policy, the Anti-Corruption Program, and policies on preventing and combating discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying and mobbing, as well as plagiarism-check systems, ethics and academic integrity committees, and more.

To mark the International Anti-Corruption Day, observed annually on December 9, TNMU will hold an “Integrity Week” from December 1 to 9, 2025, supported by the project team. The week will feature educational meetings on integrity and anti-corruption. We welcome everyone to join!

We strive to create an ethical, transparent, and responsible educational environment in which every student, lecturer, and staff member contributes to positive transformation. We thank our partners and the entire university community for their willingness to act together!
