Competitive Selection of TNMU Nursing Students for International Blended Intensive Educational Program on Breastfeeding “Introduction to Breastfeeding and Early Interaction”
At the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing of the I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, a competitive selection of students was held for participation in the international blended intensive educational program on breastfeeding, “Introduction to Breastfeeding and Early Interaction”, implemented within the Erasmus+ program.
This innovative program combines online learning with in-person international exchange, creating a shared educational space for students from various European countries. The main focus is on deepening knowledge about breastfeeding support, early mother-infant interaction, intercultural aspects of care, and modern approaches to promoting maternal and infant health.
The online part of the course will start in February 2026 on the Moodle learning platform of Tallinn Health University of Applied Sciences, where participants will engage with theoretical materials, international guidelines, and clinical cases. The in-person phase of the program will take place from April 20–24, 2026, in Tallinn, Estonia. During the international week, students will work in multicultural teams on thematic projects aimed at promoting breastfeeding, supporting women in the postpartum period, ensuring emotional well-being for vulnerable populations, and developing interprofessional collaboration skills.
The selection of participants at TNMU was conducted on a competitive basis among the students of the Nursing Institute. Candidates underwent an interview assessing their motivation, communication skills, understanding of program objectives, academic performance, and readiness to represent the university in an international educational environment. Based on the results, a group of students was selected to represent TNMU in the European academic space.

Participation in the “Introduction to Breastfeeding and Early Interaction” program will provide students with valuable professional experience, opportunities to expand international contacts, enhance clinical and communication competencies, and join the community of future leaders in healthcare.
