The Second Round of Elections Announced at TNMU

On November 28, 2025, Ternopil National Medical University held elections for the position of rector. Five candidates competed for the post.

A total of 812 ballots were printed according to the voter list. The right to elect the head of TNMU was granted to 617 members of the academic and teaching staff, 130 students, and 65 representatives from other university employees.

The TNMU community made its choice, voting as follows:

• Petro Lykhatskyi – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine – 347 votes
• Petro Selskyi – Head and Professor of the Department of Pathological Anatomy with Forensic Medicine – 171 votes
• Oksana Shevchuk – Professor of the Department of Pharmacology – 100 votes
• Ihor Rohalskyi – Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the region – 83 votes
• Stepan Vadziuk – Head of the Department of Physiology – 39 votes

Six voters chose not to support any of the candidates.

Following the vote count, a meeting of the organizational committee for the rector elections was held. During the meeting, it was decided that the second round would take place on December 5, 2025. The main contenders for the position of TNMU rector will be Petro Lykhatskyi and Petro Selskyi.
