School Students Mastered Emergency Care Skills within the ERASMUS+ Program

A training session on providing emergency care was held in Ternopil as part of the international ERASMUS+ program and the LIFESTRAND project (“Training and Dissemination of Emergency Care Skills for Higher Education Institutions and Communities in Combat Zones in Ukraine and Georgia”).

The event was attended by 204 students of Viktor Hurnyak Ternopil Secondary School No. 27.

The organization of this training became especially relevant in light of the current security situation, including a recent massive missile attack carried out in the region.

What the students learned:

• they became familiar with the most common and life-threatening emergency conditions;
• they practiced stopping critical bleeding through wound packing and applying a tourniquet;
• they mastered the algorithm of basic life support.

Such trainings help cultivate a culture of safety and readiness to act in emergency situations — something that is especially important today for every student and adult.

The LIFESTRAND project continues to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian communities and educational institutions in the field of emergency preparedness and response..
