Two-Day Practical Course by the Association of Digital Orthodontics
The practical course was held with the participation of Veronika Hanchuk, President of the Association of Digital Orthodontics of Ukraine, and Oleh Suzdaltsev, owner of Ukraine’s first clear aligner manufacturer—the Easy Align Lab Digital Orthodontics Center—who responded to the invitation of Yurii Martynets, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.

The lecture segment and workshop on the first day of the course introduced participants to digital orthodontics. Fourth- and fifth-year students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest digital tools that are transforming approaches to diagnosis, treatment planning, and orthodontic care, as well as the advantages of digital bonding using the Easy Brase system and working with Easy Align clear aligners.

The event focused on reviewing clinical cases, aligner-based treatment planning, demonstrations of retention point placement, and the use of pliers for aligner modification, utilizing the Easy Align clear aligner system. Participants also observed demonstrations of a TENS device, a myograph, a jaw tracker, and a joint vibration analyzer.
The second day of the course was dedicated to hands-on skills training. Participants performed intraoral scanning of dental arches—a key stage of modern orthodontic diagnostics. Students became familiar with intraoral scanners and the scanning process, with each participant practicing scanning on a colleague. Using specialized digital software, they created their own aligner-based treatment plans.

During the practical session, participants were introduced to the 3Shape OrthoSystem software through the analysis of a clinical case. They completed hands-on computer-based tasks using 3Shape OrthoSystem for patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Veronika Hanchuk and Oleh Suzdaltsev for their professionalism. We also thank 3Shape for providing intraoral scanners for training and INSPE for technical support and computer equipment. Such close cooperation enables the high-quality training of future specialists.
Special thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to live and study in Ukraine.
