Accreditation Granted to the “Healthcare Management” Educational Program at TNMU

The Educational and Professional Program “Healthcare Management” under specialty 073 “Management” has successfully passed accreditation, confirming its compliance with high-quality standards and modern requirements for training managers in the healthcare sector. This is an important milestone for the University, as it demonstrates the program’s effectiveness in implementation and its strong potential to shape a new generation of healthcare management professionals.

The program is actively developing at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The University is systematically building a modern educational environment, creating all the necessary conditions for the development and high-quality implementation of educational and professional programs. We are moving along the path of modernization: modern equipment, teaching methods, and technological resources are being procured to ensure the practical orientation of the educational process and its compliance with international standards. At the same time, the University fosters a supportive environment for the professional development of academic staff, encouraging innovation, engagement, and readiness to implement best practices in teaching and learning. This approach guarantees the sustainability of the educational process, enhances its quality, and creates an atmosphere of trust and partnership between teachers and students.

The University will continue to further develop the “Healthcare Management” program, as its success is already evident: in just the first year of implementation, the number of enrolled students increased by 78% (25 students in 2025 compared to 14 in 2024). This is clear evidence of growing interest in the program and students’ trust in the University.

An important step in the development of this field was the establishment of the Center for Medical Management and Leadership. The Center is headed by the guarantor of the Educational and Professional Program “Healthcare Management,” PhD in Economics, Liudmyla Trushchenkova.

The Center is designed to become a platform for developing managerial competencies in the healthcare sector. Its activities include:

  • development and implementation of certificate programs for heads of healthcare institutions;
  • delivery of thematic advanced training courses for practicing managers and physicians;
  • creation of training modules in leadership, strategic management, HR management, and financial management in healthcare;
  • organization of training and workshops on modern management technologies and digital tools.

The University plans to actively involve graduates of the “Healthcare Management” program in the Center’s work, as they bring new knowledge, modern management practices, and leadership skills. This will enable the creation of a community of young professionals capable of influencing the transformation of Ukraine’s healthcare system.

The Center’s work will benefit all participants in the educational and professional process. For students, it offers an opportunity to acquire additional competencies and practical skills. For academic staff, it provides a space for professional growth and the implementation of innovative methodologies. For healthcare institutions, it ensures access to modern management solutions that will enhance operational efficiency. For society as a whole, it serves as a guarantee that the healthcare system will develop on the principles of professionalism, leadership, and innovation.

Thus, the successful accreditation of the “Healthcare Management” educational program and the establishment of the Center for Medical Management and Leadership are important steps in the University’s strategic development. They confirm TNMU’s aspiration to be a leader in training a new generation of managers capable of ensuring the sustainable development of Ukrainian healthcare.
