TNMU Associate Professor Participated in the 1st All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Profile Secondary Education: Challenges of Piloting and Development Prospects”

On January 12, 2026, Nadiia Oliinyk, Head of the Department of Communications and Marketing at Ternopil National Medical University, Associate Professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Language, PhD in Pedagogy, took part in the 1st All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation titled “Profile Secondary Education: Challenges of Piloting and Development Prospects.”

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University, Ivan Franko Ternopil Academic Lyceum, the Department of Education and Science of the Ternopil City Council, and the Ternopil Municipal Methodological Center for Scientific and Educational Innovations and Monitoring.

During the plenary session, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, local authorities, education administrators, and the academic community addressed the conference participants with welcoming remarks. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of reforming secondary education for society, outlining strategic directions for its development and implementation.

After the plenary session, the conference continued its work in four thematic sections. Nadiia Oliinyk participated in the section “Management and Psychological and Pedagogical Aspects of Organizing the Educational Process in the Context of Profile Education,” moderated by Yuliia Topolnytska, Project Manager for the Reform of Profile Secondary Education at the Office for the Implementation of the New Ukrainian School of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In her presentation titled “Career Guidance Activities of a Higher Medical Education Institution in a Profile Secondary School,” Nadiia Oliinyk outlined the main challenges faced by senior school students when choosing a future profession. She emphasized the importance of career guidance activities carried out by higher education institutions in preparing motivated applicants who make conscious career choices. She also introduced the audience to the key career guidance tools used by Ternopil National Medical University in working with secondary school students. She noted:

“Higher medical education institutions, as the intellectual and academic centers of the state, should lead this process, ensuring that the future medical workforce consists not of случайні люди, but motivated professionals ready to meet the challenges of a new era. Therefore, career guidance today is an investment in national security and the health of the nation for decades to come.”
